'the Florence Studio Set' With Laura Thompson

"Our students love Rosemary Brushes! Having the right tools makes painting relaxing and fun and Rosemary and Co. brushes are our absolute favourites. They make learning to paint easy for our students.

For myself and for my husband, Frank Rekrut, we especially like the Ivory Long Flat series. The spring in the brushes makes applying the appropriate pressure for each stroke easy to manage and control. The longer length prevents paint from getting into the ferrule which extends the life of the brushes immensely. A slight twist of the wrist means that one can go from wide bands of paint application to a very fine line -all with just one stroke. 

I enjoy painting a wide range of subjects and styles -from traditional realism to slightly more ‘alla prima’ works with abstracted backgrounds and these brushes work extremely well for both techniques.

Frank is especially fond of the Series 310 Angular. He and I both find that this brush offers amazing precision.

Laura Thompson is the owner/director of The Florence Studio (Academy of Fine Arts) in the historic centre of Florence, Italy. Laura is also an internationally recognised professional painter and her works have been in exhibitions and museums and private collections worldwide.
