This workshop will take place from Saturday 12-16th August 2023.

Jeff will be teaching predominately still-life (indoors) - however if the weather is good we may go and paint outdoors one of the days in and around North Yorkshire.

This workshop will be held by Workshops in Yorkshire, Craven Hall, Sackville Street, Skipton, BD23 2PB, England.

This workshop will start at 9am each morning and finish at 4pm - with a 1 hour lunch break. We will start each morning at the HQ for a coffee & a bite to eat.

Jeff will teach about creating form, light and luminosity. Jeff will also show students how to set-ip an interesting composition. All of Jeff’s work is done from a live set-up. No photos and no tedious preliminary drawings. Jeff will probably give a demonstration every morning or at least most mornings. He will discuss materials, prop selection, paint application, lighting etc. Jeff will then go one on one around the room to help students. This workshop is aimed for medium to advanced painters, but we will consider beginners. Please email me if you are not sure. This workshop will have a maximum of 15 students and all still-life props will be provided. If you prefer to work sitting or standing, please let us know ahead of time so we can cater for your needs.

Jeffrey C. Legg was born in 1959 in Joplin, Missouri. He is recognized as a Master Signature Member by the prestigious Oil Painters of America. Legg's luminous oils have garnered national recognition and numerous awards including the coveted Gold Medal at the OPA National Exhibition. Other major awards were earned at the American Impressionist Society, Virtuosos of OPA, Salon International and the Art Renewal Center Salon to name a few. Legg began his artistic journey at age 12, being mentored by a generous regional artist and college art professor in Southwest Missouri. He went on to study painting and drawing at Atelier Lack in Minneapolis, MN and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Legg has now been painting full-time for more than 30 years. His work has been featured in many books and publications including American Art Collector, The Artists Magazine, Art of the West, Southwest Art and has been on the covers of Southwest Art and Art of the West magazines. Legg is a member of the California Art Club, The American Impressionist Society, and the Salmagundi Club in NYC. His work can be seen in distinguished galleries across the United States and is highly sought after and collected in America and abroad.
