The Realist Painter Introductory Set

The Realist Painter is a project set up by Carl de Jager and Kostas Protopapas (both teachers at Barcelona Academy of Art) to make quality academic training accessible in a variety of locations globally, aimed at artists who cannot commit to extended study.

The workshops condense years of classical training into a highly focused learning experience, allowing participants to gain high-level artistic education in a compact format, blending rigorous theory with immediate, hands-on application.

This carefully selected brush collection offers a perfect introduction to understanding how different brush types enhance each stage of your painting process. The Ultimate Bristle Filbert and Ivory Pointed Round provide the firm control needed for scrubbing paint into thin layers and establishing your initial colour foundation. The Eclipse Long Filberts serve as versatile workhorses, delivering everything from bold strokes to smooth blending.
