"I'm a firm believer in not prescribing a single method or tool -- in my own studio practice, I will often go through periods of favoring one brush versus another. For artists exploring bravura brushwork and wanting to loosen up their paintings, Master's Choice and Eclipse Combers tend to be excellent at forcing painters to let go of the bad habit of using too little paint and simply pressing hard into the canvas to make a mark. That being said, once you have a lighter touch, I love the Ivories and Evergreens for their ability to make expressive marks in the early 'wash' stages, as well as their ability to create beautiful impasto toward the end of a painting. This set will give artists an option to explore and improve, no matter their current tendencies and habits, and will set them up for success no matter their goals, provided that they truly experiment with each brush to learn how it most wants to be used."
